The Guest Room: A Novel by Chris Bohjalian
5.0

Richard is a successful investment banker and a good family man when he offers his house to be used for his brother’s bachelor party. He thinks having it at his house will help keep things from going out of control like they might at a bar or club. Boy, was he ever wrong! As a result of the party two dead Russians are on his living room floor, two very young Russian escorts are on the run, Richard has been suspended from his job, he is being blackmailed, and his wife is not speaking to him. The Guest Room is a sad story of the sex trade and of a good guy who makes one mistake and is trying everything he can to make up for it and to get his life back on track. It is beautifully written and is told alternatively from the view of one of the young Russian sex slaves and from Richard.
