Thank you Netgalley for the ARC!
4 stars!
This book had me in a chokehold. What starts out kinda soft and slow blooms into this beautifully messy, emotional rollercoaster of a romance—and I was HERE for it.
Tegan and Heath? The chemistry was simmering from page one. Even when they were just “friends,” I was side-eyeing my Kindle like sure, Jan. The tension, the history, the grief—they were both going through it, but the way their connection pushed through all that pain? Gorgeous.
I’m a sucker for dual POV, and this one delivered. Seeing both of them wrestle with their own demons while slowly finding their way back to each other felt so real. No insta-love, no quick fix—just two people doing the emotional work (and yes, making me scream at my screen in the process).
Special shoutout to Jeremy and Levi, the two besties who did not come to play. The way they showed up for Tegan? Iconic. Give them their own novella, please.
This story had heat, heart, and just the right amount of angst. It gave me all the feels and then some. Definitely one of those romances that lingers with you in the best way.
