Felix Ever After
by Kacen Callender
CW: transphobia, outing
WOW. I'm not even sure there are words to describe this book. It is SO well-written and the story just kept pulling me in deeper and deeper. I found myself rooting for so many characters and even getting so upset with a handful of them. I loved the details from early in the book that resurfaced later on: the grandfather, the initials on the train. Reading this book felt like I was right back in NYC, visiting gay bars with my friends, truly having the time of our lives. Since COVID has cancelled much of the Pride festivities this year, it was nice to find a bit of that comfort amidst these pages. I do have unanswered questions after finishing this book, though, which I hope means we will get a sequel!
