Sandwich: A Novel
by Catherine Newman
fast-paced
40% of this book was fun and reflective — family vacations, lake-drenched dinners, and remembering what it means to be a person and a sibling and a child and a partner. That was fun. But the other 60% was either really intense monologues about menopause, sad vignettes about miscarriages, or “woke” conversations between MC and “queer child”. Did too much and a bit all over the place but between those, was fun.
