sicksadlit 's review for:
Wild
by Cheryl Strayed
I was a bit nervous going into this that it would be too self-absorbed and pretentious, judging by some of the other reviews there are definitely quite a few people who felt that way.
However, I picked up this beautiful book at a monumental time in my life where I was going through some enormous changes - and I couldn't have read it at a better time.
I absolutely loved this book and I can honestly say that Cheryl Strayed helped me through some of the darkest days during the break up with my fiance. Her style of writing is beautiful and almost reads like song in some parts. Her strength and determination when she had absolutely nothing left (both figuratively and literally) inspired me to be grateful for all the wonderful people in my life.
I truly did not want this book to end, I devoured it page by page and I will probably read it several times over the course of my life and continue to highly recommend it to others.
