ros_lanta 's review for:
The Mystery of the Blue Train
by Agatha Christie
My preference for murder mysteries novels is for the crime to be committed early on in the book, and so I was a bit disappointed by the long build up at the start of this novel. I didn't really start to get invested in the plot until the murder had taken place.
The mystery was interesting and the final reveal fairly satisfying. I had suspected part of it (albeit it was my second-favourite theory not my main one!) but other parts were a surprise to me and made perfect sense once revealed. However I did feel that the way the investigation itself was written was a bit lackluster, not bad just underwhelming.
Overall a perfectly decent book if you want a quick whodunnit to entertain you for an evening, but not one of Agatha Christie's best.
