This took a bit for the world building to even begin which reflecting back on it, while I see that it was necessary, was incredibly irksome for me. Once the world building began, it was done in a way that made it relatively easy to understand and I believe was complete, however being 1/3 into the book before it even began seemed a tad bit excessive for build up.
Don’t get me wrong, I really did enjoy it. I’m glad book 2 is already available through the library. I guess I just expected something different from this series.
I’ve listened to the audio version and I do enjoy that. The narrator does a great job with all the characters and it is quite the performance.
