Give Me a Sign

A great option for a summer read . The nostalgic summer camp vibes throughout the book make you feel light and warm throughout the story . The way the author address the intricacies of the deaf community and the struggles of life with a disability is perfect. This story has equal parts happiness and heartbreak . As a reader , you watch the main character struggle to find herself while she’s trapped between two worlds of which neither fully accepts her . I think this is a great read especially for anyone hoping to gain insight or better empathize with anyone with a disability. I would highly recommend this story especially to YA ages who can sometimes be quick to alienate or otherwise make things hard for anyone who is different than themselves.
**The one scene will absolutely rip your heart out because it is unfortunately so real and probable .
