Here the Whole Time
by Vitor Martins
I love Felipe and Caio <3
I picked this up from my local library with only a vague recollection of seeing the title on Bookstagram. The writing flowed so well I didn't remember until I was halfway through that this is translated fiction, which as a linguist I think is brilliant.
The story falls quite solidly into the YA LGBT+ Romance genre which I believe I'm slowly moving away from. That said, the entire premise of the book is forced proximity which never gets old. It was refreshing to read a diverse, body positive romance: not only between our protagonists but also between secondary characters. I don't doubt that so many people will feel seen by this adorable story and if more of Martins' work is published in English, I will certainly pick it up.
