I understand that people are disappointed by this book, particularly by Atticus' portrayal. However, I think the themes in this book are very worth exploring, and wouldn't be as poignant if Atticus were maintained in his pedestal position.

Scout's an adult now, and with that we get to see a different side of Atticus and Macomb. Themes of resistance to change and the isolating effect of progress are explored well in this book, but it definitely takes more effort and analysis than the original.
