Immortally Yours
by Lynsay Sands
I feel like there are two bigger story lines going on with this series. The one where Leo's mentor got away from Basha and Marcus and will pop up at any minute, and the one with the mad doctor and the hybrids on the island of horror. I am utterly invested into these storylines. Sadly this book does not work with either storyline. There is merely a brief mention and that's it. I understand and think it's great that Lynsay is letting us know what's going on back home while the major players are fighting the good fight, but I was less than interested in reading about the B team.
With that said, I was surprised by how much I enjoyed all of these characters in this story. I hope to see more Kira and Donny.
Scotty and Beth's story was very different. I was very pleased with the detailed backgrounds of them as individuals as well as their interactions leading up to the climax of their love story. They weren't annoying which is always a plus. The constant attacks on Beth did start to get old and I had figured out the culprit almost instantly however the motive was NOT what I had expected.
Overall it was a solid story. I'm happy with it. It's a nice rainy day read.
