4.5 stars — such a cozy holiday story that’ll have you giddily kicking your feet, feeling at home, and craving something (or someone) sweet 😉

This is exactly the book I was looking for to get me into the holiday spirit! 🎄 It’s funny, wholesome, romantic, and includes elements that we don’t typically see in a holiday story. Twin sisters, Charlie and Cass may be identical, but their lives and personalities are not. So when personal issues lead them to decide to switch places less than two weeks before Christmas, it seems like a recipe for disaster — and it kind of is, but in a way that steers the story toward a satisfying conclusion.

I love how certain plot points are familiar and predictable, but there are also plenty of entertaining twists sprinkled in (kind of like the baking puns I can’t help but use in this review 🤭). As the story unfolds, the twins each reflect on their own lives in comparison to the ones they’re temporarily living in and this inspired me to also self-reflect. It’s interesting to think about how we’d feel if we got to live a different life, but this story shows why it’s important to appreciate our roots while also breaking free of our comfort zones.

The male love interests are total green flags and they’re the perfect ones to add the romantic element that we expect and enjoy in holiday stories. They’re the right amount of cheesy and their background stories help the reader connect with them even more.

I will absolutely reread this story for many future Christmases and I think lots of you will feel the same! ☺️
