Bitterblue
by Kristin Cashore
Things I liked: I love revisiting Bitterblue and the rest of the characters as well as all the new characters introduced. I also like that this series checks in with different time periods of the same world. Each book isn't a copy of the one before it. Instead each story expands the world and the characters.
Things I didn't like: this feels too long. I'm not sure if the first two books were super long, but they didn't feel as long as this. Bitterblue is too confused throughout the first two thirds of the book, and so am I. Things only picked up in the last quarter or so of the book. I would have preferred much more about her secret trips outside the palace and much, much less of her advisors and the mystery of the evil her dad inflicted on his people.
