When Dimple Met Rishi
by Sandhya Menon
Wow this book has a lot of haters! I thought this book was really cute. It’s just two sweet cute nerds falling in love and brought me back to a carefree time when I didn’t have to think about things like: paying bills! Job security in a failing economy! Existential dread! Such innocence.
A lot of people criticized the book for having that “not like other girls” trope, which is a fair critique. I think the author tried to go for a progressive, feminist theme but ended up falling into that trope and having an unhealthy girls-hating-on-girls element.
