Alice in Wonderland [Adaptation] by Jane Carruth, Lewis Carroll

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland has been a much anticipated read for me, primarily because of the Disney movie as well as all of the retellings in various forms.
My first impression was that it was surprisingly short as I thought it would quite long considering the hype, however I was pleasantly surprised when I finished it within a matter of 3 days (which is quite short for my reading habits).
It takes Alice from a river bank with her sister down a rabbit hole (from which she thinks she fallen to the other side of the earth) and into her first adventures in 'Wonderland'. Now I either don't remember much of the Disney retelling or I learnt quite a bit as I met the Mock Turtle for the first time. But it was a fascinating read because I'm delving into a world that I know well but not well enough.
The writing style for me was somewhat difficult to read because of the complexity of the sentence structure (which was probably due largely to the era) nevertheless I got used to the diction and enjoyed it thoroughly.
