This is not my typical genre but it sounded so intriguing and there was a lot of buzz around it. I ended up picking it as my BoTM selection. I have some mixed feelings about it. I enjoyed it but there’s a lot of things that were so very gross.

This was a very slow start. It was more than half way before I really got pulled into the story. I think if it were shorter that it would have been a bit better.

I did like Noemi because she wouldn’t let anyone push her around. She was her own independent person and that was refreshing. Although, at times it felt like she was a bit rude. I do get that if she did follow the rules she would never have a chance to make it.

This book was creepy and there are so may gross scenes that made me queasy. I think I’m a bit haunted by some of them. It’s really the reason I just stay away from horror.

Overall, I was a bit grossed out but I did enjoy most of the second half. Most of the characters were kind of bland, the plot was slow, and it’s kind of gross. If you like horror it might be up your alley though.
