I enjoyed the previous book TO CATCH AN EARL a LOT and when I saw that THE PRINCESS AND THE ROGUE was about one of my favourite tropes ever "The Princess falls in love with her bodyguard" I was even more excited to read it.

My enjoyment was worth 4 stars but the whole story is probably a 2/3 stars read. It was hard for me to like Sebastien as a hero because he was constantly thinking about Anya in a sexual way. It wasn't like there were a lot of sex scenes but his thoughts were too sexual and it gets really tiring to read about a hero who only thinks with his penis. Because of that I didn't buy the romance, yes they had chemistry but their relationship felt like it was based more on lust than love.

Aside from that I really enjoyed the secondary characters, there were a lot of scenes with Sebastien and his friends that made me laugh out loud.

Even if I wasn't a fan of Anya and Sebastien as a couple I enjoyed reading this book, I was on a reading slump when I started THE PRINCESS AND THE ROGUE and I could get into the story since the very beggining.

TO sum up If you're looking for a fun and sexy historical romance THE PRINCESS AND THE ROGUE is for you but if you're looking for a slow burn romance you won't find it here.
