The writing style in this book is so unique and unexpected! Interior Chinatown is a fictional novel that is written like a series of monologues, montages, and short plays. It’s intentional pop culture storytelling at its finest. It dives into race in America in a way that makes you think and laugh all at the same time. Specifically the novel tackles immigration, assimilation, what it is to be Chinese American, & the general roles that many Asian actors & actresses are type cast into. A social commentary novel done well.
