A re-read for book club.
Years ago, after my grandmother died, I was looking through her high school yearbook and discovered that she had played Judy in a production of Daddy-Long-Legs--and was quite the hit. So I immediately read the book, and it's had a soft spot in my heart ever since.
Judy is delightful. I would love to get her in a room with Anne and Sara Crewe and all the other great orphans of literature. Her descriptions of college, especially the delights of living on your own, are wonderful. I've always loved this book, even if you can see the ending coming a mile away.
