I want to like this book, this series, I really do, but I just can’t. I’m finding I don’t really like Maryne. She grates on me. How on earth can she just forgive the boys like that is beyond me. I don’t buy it. The constant stressing of how she’s so accepting is over the top.
I also don’t really like Zack or the way there’s always hints about Windsor. Again, the constant mention of each guy’s scent is mentioned, over and over and over and over. As is their posture and mannerisms. We’ve been reading these guys for 3 books, we get it!
And things just move so slowly here. Again, it seems more concerned with the passage of time, rather than events. Several are lumped together and it seems clumsy.
My last issue with these books as a whole is that they read young, which seems odd for a RH book, but they do.
I’m still yet to read a great RH book and I don’t think these are it. If you’re a fan of the trope you’d probably like it, I’m just reading to see what happens now.
