People We Meet on Vacation
by Emily Henry
Poppy and Alex are inseparable and always have to take a summer trip together. It’s the highlight of their year. They first met at college and were very different, but somehow they became the best of friends. They haven’t really spoken in two years after the incident that happened two summers ago. Poppy feels stuck in a rut and needs something to make her happy and she always remembers that she was happiest with Alex on vacation. So, she reaches out to him and invites him on a summer trip and he agrees. Can Poppy make everything right again? This book is told in the point of views of “This Summer” and previous summer vacations.
First of all, I want to preface I got Beach Read from Book of the Month last year and had high hopes for it and didn’t like it all. When I saw this as an add on for Book of the Month I decided to pass because of my feelings on Beach Read, but I decided to check it out from the library. As you can see from my rating I loved this book. I didn’t have high expectations for this, but this is the romance I love in books. It’s a slow burn and starts out as a friendship. It’s fresh and beautiful. I went through a lot of feels. I was rooting for them to fix their friendship and later on rooting for them to finally get it on. This was a book I definitely needed. I highly recommend this book!
