Octopuses are my favorite animal, so of course I had to pick this one up when I spotted it at the bookstore. More philosophical than I initially expected, but seeing as the author is a philosopher, this makes sense and added a nice touch to the scientific information. Made me think about scientific facts I already knew in a different way—like how cells are a way of taking the ocean with you onto land for biological processes. Some of the information on octopuses was not new to me, but this book was published in 2016, so I'll cut it some slack since I did learn plenty of new things. I also appreciated the notes section in the back of the book, which gave clarification on some points and gave me a whole list of new octopus-related reading material! And I wonder if it's possible for me to visit Octopolis someday...
