A very satisfying collection. Nearly every short story collection leaves me wanting a little more, as not every idea or experiment can be a winner. In this case, however, the lows are still quite high, with only one or two stories leaving me wanting to be done with them, rather than wanting to savour them. (The lowest, for me, was what was clearly an early experiment that the Broken Earth series. It wasn't bad, but it was clearly unformed, and paled by comparison.)

The stories were amazingly varied, and nearly all made us care for their characters in the short time we knew them. Without exception, they were beautifully written.
