Bright Burning Things
by Lisa Harding
I normally would have given this probably 4 stars but the ending just felt kind of dropped off in a rush and I wasn't as satisfied as I had hoped.
This book deals with Sonya and her addiction to alcohol. It gets so bad that her father, who has barely been in her life lately, is scared of what could happen to her 4 year old Tommy.
She goes to rehab and it seems to do the trick (she does drink once right after she leaves but doesn't the rest of the story). But hey getting Tommy back will take time. There is a councilor she had seen that comes back into her regular life and is just horrible. I didn't like him and what he did to her one it. He makes her feel like she's losing her mind though he's just trying to break her down to his wants.
I found myself rooting for Sonya- cheering her on through rehab and hoping she can recover herself when she relapsed.
