New X-Men: Childhood's End - The Complete Collection by Craig Kyle, Duncan Rouleau, Paco Medina, Paul Pelletier, Mark Brooks, Christopher Yost
4.0

So after reviewing each volume individually I just wanted to place this all in one review here for the series.

This is a darker X-Men series than you might expect. These kids go through hell and almost die, some do, in very screwed up ways. It shows hate crime in all it's bloody ways, and it shows how hopeless the world can feel sometimes. With a large cast of kids Craig is able to give a good showcase for almost everyone. Some get some deep backstory that was needed to flush out the characters and by the end it feels like a complete team. Sadly cut short by being canned it feels rushed at the end and also there's some edgy/dark moments that feel a little too much. Still, if you haven't read this, I do highly suggest atleast giving it a whirl. It's a easy 3.5 out of 5 but I'll push it to a 4 because it's something different than most X-Men series.

Hopefully one day we get a similar series like this!
