Postcolonial Love Poem by Natalie Díaz
4.0

I'm sure so much of this went over my head, even after looking up the references and translations, and I felt alienated from the style in many places, but I think that's okay. Not everything has to be for me.

This books asks what it means to love (our family, our peoples, our lovers, the oppressor, the earth) after colonialism has destroyed so much?

The stand-out poem by far was "exhibits from The American Water Museum," a journey through imagined placards on the walls of a future museum in memory of rivers, which have been destroyed by colonialism/capitalism.

Overall, an intimate, winding exploration of what it means to be native right now, and what it means to fall in love after the world ends.
