I think this would have been 5 stars for me if it wasn’t so self aware. Queer characters and themes, an interesting, fairly complex plot. A story about stories and what stories mean is something I felt really drawn to. These days it feels like people consume so many kinds of stories but the content and “point” of them don’t seem to be internalized, only assigned entertainment value and ratings. It’s no wonder this book has done so well, flying in the face of that.
