The beginning was slow, but by the end of Part 1 I was hooked. Just make sure to check CW because it gets very heavy.

I understand that this is a YA book and as such is a bit preachy, but I think it's important to note that, although the narrator portrays refusing opioids after a surgery as "being strong", this perpetuates stigma against disabled people and people with chronic pain who need opioids to survive.
