This was a great ending for the series. Now I'm anxious to watch the TV show, which I've been told has some differences. (I only saw the first season before.)

I like how the Earth born group with Max as a leader, and the colonists have merged together and formed a counsel and built up their lives together instead of arguing or making one or the other group feel as lesser. I enjoyed how Octavia was able to mature and find her own relationship within this volume in the series. And I was truly happy with where Clarke and Bellamy ended up. The Graham part of the story got to me a bit, I was not expecting that.

I think the way the book ended completed the series nicely. There was promise of the future, but also a definite closure on the story we were being told throughout.
