The Violin Conspiracy by Brendan Slocumb
4.0

This was such a solid book! I thought it was excellent via audio and the narrator's tone was so nice to listen to. This is another one to add to the list of books with family drama. There is a mystery involved as Ray's family violin has come up missing the night before his biggest competition. This book starts and end in the present but a good chunk of the middle is told from the past. We see how Ray came to start playing the violin and when he was given the family's violin. I was getting so angry over so many things that happened to Ray throughout the book between his mom, treatment from his uncles & aunts, racists people in his community - it all was infuriating.  I definitely recommend this!
