Wow. What an incredible book! This book was emotionally difficult to read but it was so well done. The structure of the book allows you to be captivated by stories while also taking the reader back to that time so that one might better understand what that time period was like. I feel this book does an excellent job showing how the enslavement of black people, so long ago, had (and still has) profound effects for generations.
