Warcross

SPOILER - FREE REVIEW:
OH EM GEE. Read this. I love the difference in this book compared to her other 2 series already. The characters have intrigue, and backstories that really weave a wonderful web. I figured out one of the plot twists, but was definitely surprised by the other one. Can't wait for book #2!!
SPOILER REVIEW (READ AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION):
OH HOLY COW. I had figured out by the time Hideo told Emika about his brother that that who Zero had to be (because otherwise I didn't think the series would have enough stuff to keep going). But what I did NOT see was that Hideo was the 'bad' guy. I don't count him as an evil dictator, but his reasoning has caused him to be blind to the real issue at hand (with the whole kidnapping thing). But I wonder why Sasuke didn't just come out to Emika that's what he was doing. Using violence caused her to go the other way and allowed the virus to affect everyone. I'm so excited for book #2 because I was left with more questions than answers (as the first book should leave me). This was my favorite Marie Lu first book (I've read Legend, and The Young Elites). I love this story line and that the characters aren't cut and dry. Each of them seems to have a new angle the further the reading goes. I'm glad that Emika was able to find some friends to trust so she didn't have to journey alone (because that's lame -- sassy friends are the best). I haven't decided where I think its's going next so hurry up next year!
