Alice 19th, Vol. 1
by Yuu Watase
We all know the saying "words are power", but what if you actually had powers that sprung from what you say (positive or negative) to others? That is the idea that Yuu Watase plays with in Alice 19th. A young girl named Alice Seno is a guardian of Lotis, that is she never knew she was such a guardian until she told her sister to disappear. And to Alice's horror her sister did. With help from Kyou (her sister's boyfriend), a humanoid talking rabbit, and a very flirtatious priest of Lotis, Alice must use the power of words to fight the darkness in people's hearts and find her sister.

Sounds awesome right? Well it's because it is! Yuu Watase is a master artist and storyteller, Alice 19th being another of her wonderful works. The idea is a great one and the moral lesson of it rings very true. Characters are well developed and very interesting. I cared about every character. The story is very unique, and the writing is very powerful. The way that Yuu Watase tells her stories is breathtaking and her Alice 19th is no exception to it.

I recommend this to anyone who loves Yuu Watase or a very interesting, wonderful story full of moral lessons. I thoroughly enjoyed this series and I think most will too. It is a treasure and I love it!
