Okay I shall say 1st that I haven't read Vampire Academy so I can not compare the 2.

I liked this book a lot, it had a bit of everything in it, love, death, betrayal and a good old dose of angst!

Justine Eyre was brilliant as always at narration, but I did think of Daemon Black all of the time as she also narrated the Lux series, so I had my swoon head on.

I will definitely read the rest of the series to find out what happens to Alex and if she can get herself into any more bad situations, I'm sure she will.

A sturdy 4•5☆ read.
