This was pretty good! The atmosphere was the best part, I love a creepy sentient forest and this was an excellent example of one. I liked the side characters, and the found family element. But I found the romance to be lacking sadly. I liked them as a couple but didn’t really feel the chemistry, it felt like I was just being told there was chemistry instead of actually seeing it. And with the plot, there were many moments where things felt a little too convenient to be able to suspend disbelief enough to fully enjoy it. Overall it was an enjoyable read but not one that will stick with me for a long time. I’ll definitely read more from this author though!
