Sometimes when it’s been months said I’ve read a book that’s a part of a series I have a hard time slipping back into things but I had zero issues here. It’s the second book in a series featuring a group of female friends who are older, which I love, it’s not something I see very often and it’s appreciated. There are so many great characters in this one, you have Liddy and her friends and then their kids as well as residents of Wyndham Beach making up a cast that’s sure to please everyone. Liddy’s story is a sad and heavy one, her daughter took her life a few years back and she’s struggled to come to terms with it. Shortly after her daughters death her husband abandons her so she has really been through it. Despite the heavy subject matter this definitely has lightness and humor. It’s an authentic portrayal of someone’s messy life and there is a lot to relate to here. There’s a couple of romances, lots of friendship and some drama too. Overall a really enjoyable read especially if you like character driven stories in an idyllic setting.
