My wife and I bought this volume for a friend because of her love of cats. After she read it she bought the following two volumes and gave a lot of praise. I had to see what all the fuss was about so I asked to borrow them and coming from a non-cat fan this...was pretty fun!

Basically it's the life of cats but in street gang type world. Think Wolf Rain but not so serious or depressing. So when our main character, Ryuusei, shows up in a new town he's not so welcomed. A adventure of fighting street gangs, finding a new family, and trying to get laid. Ryuusei is a cat in a world filled with dangers!

It's a pretty funny serious. Lots of good comedic moments, the fights are intense, and I like Ryuusei. The art is solid and the world building works. The sexual fan-service and such can be a bit much and watching Ryuusei wanting to basically fuck the shit out of the one female character is a bit much but he is a cat, and that's just how animals are.

Overall interesting and will read on. A 3.5 out of 5.
