In the Wind
by Lilliana Anderson
Copy received from author for an honest review.
Lilliana Anderson has done it again!
In The Wind is a beautiful, but at times gut wrenching and heart breaking story of growing up. Of love, of loss, of wanting to fit in. Of sexual awakenings, of finding out who you really are, and of who your friends really are.
Dawn Tucker - I could relate to her well. I had my friends, but didn't fit in with the "cool kids". Though looking back, that's not a bad thing at all!
Dawn and Zeke have been inseparable for years - until one day a fresh breath of air blows into Hargraves Cove, in the shape of Shea.
Right from the start, I didn't know whether I liked Shea or not. And as the story progressed, there were many a times when I wanted to push her off a cliff! Seriously, the more we got to know the girl, the more I disliked her!
And Zeke - he broke my heart. A thoughtless, selfish boy that I wanted to nut punch.
You may have noted that Ms Anderson has brought out the violence in me with this one!
Then there is Luke. Sweet, beautiful Luke. I just wanted to lean over and whisper
I don't want to give anything away with what happens in the story, but I do want to say that I feel that everyone got what they deserved.
In The Wind is Dawn's beautiful story, but have some tissues handy, as I am sure you will tear up at least once while reading!
