light spoilers:

I have been reading so many quick, short reads that I was excited to pick up a book that was a little longer. The Light of Asteria was a delightful read. It truly was good v. evil and it was so easy to distinguish the two. Everything was based on your intent, if your intent was pure you were good. But if you allowed negative intent and emotions to rule your being, you would turn evil. I wonder if one of the evil beings started to have good intentions, if they would turn good again? Maybe that issue will be explored in the next book.

Half of the story takes place on earth and the other half takes place in another land. I loved the way Elizbath Isaacs described everything- it was so easy to read and so relatable. The story just flowed along at a nice steady pace. It wasn't super fast moving, but it also wasn't too slow anywhere.

Nora was one of those characters that just seemed so good at everything, but amazingly it did not bug me one bit! She is nice, pretty, strong, has super cool abilities- but she does make mistakes and she is just so genuine in everything that she does that I was gravitated towards her. I really liked her, and because she is just so purely good, you want her to succeed and to get the guy.

Gavin was an interesting character too. At first, I was dying to know his secret. He can read thoughts, like the rest of is people, and for someone who is dying to know everything about Nora he certainly kept more than a few things from her. Once I found out what was going on, I liked Gavin even more. He is supposed to be really pure in intent too but he has a little possessive streak when it comes to Nora, and I have to say I really like it! I know he shouldn't because it can lead to jealousy and that can corrupt, but as long as Nora keeps him in check, I think it is really cute on Gavin.

Gavin's group of friends is just as lovable. Especially Reena. She is just so darn cute! I can't wait to see what is going to develop with her. She is such a good friend to Nora. I liked that The Light of Asteria had such admirable character in it. The hero's were actually worthy of being called a hero. It was refreshing. I also loved that in their world they were bound to their words when they spoke out loud. Since they can read minds, they normally just communicate silently. So when they speak out loud, it is a big deal. I thought that was a really unique idea.

Overall, The Light of Asteria is a great book! There is something for everyone; epic fight scenes, a really sweet romance, mystery, superpowers, a new land. I fell in love with it all! I can't wait to see what is going to happen next. I didn't want this book to end where it did, I wanted it to continue on for just a little longer. Read it and you will see why.
