Fruits Basket, Vol. 11 by Natsuki Takaya
4.0

Emotional upheaval!! GAH! I'm so scared of Akito; that man is horrible and terrifying. He hurt my babies, my characters. I just want to punch him and throw him in jail, and hug my characters and make them happy again. I cannot stand the awful things Akito says. He's emotionally abusive to his entire family, and there's always the threat of violence lurking behind everything, and then he actually physically abuses children and I want to scream. I get so upset!

There are some very sweet scenes with Momiji having fun with fireworks, and Tohru building a sand castle. They are so adorable!

Tohru officialy meets Rin (Isuzu), and Rin has some serious anger issues and she's skulking around and hiding from everyone. I'm curious what her whole story is, because she has been mentioned or made a small appearance in the last few volumes. It's all very mysterious, and I want answers!

Kyo has to confront the evil Akito, and in doing so realizes the extent of his true feelings for Tohru, but Kyo lies and says that he hates Tohru in order to protect her. He does a lot of emotional healing and has some wonderous development in this volume, all in the midst of horrible abuse and pain. That Kyo simply amazes me! He resilient and strong and has a beautiful soul.

Favorite scene is when Tohru overhears Kyo and Momiji talking about her and how they like her and would do anything to protect her. Squee!!
