Some of the great things about this series are:
- The art/business aspect. My heart just really goes for all those kids chasing their dreams sort of stories.
- Ryo is great. He is struggling but he really gives it his all when he gets going.
- The friends. I like seeing Ryo's support system grow and learning all about the side characters.
I really love reading books from LGBTQ+ authors from outside the USA. Previously I read The Bride is a Boy which is an autobiographical manga, and I only bring it up to mention my appreciation of the contrast between the two manga (I know BRtR is fictional, but the author did base some of the things he or people he knows experienced). You can never know a situation based off one account. Also, I really appreciate the interview with the author that is included at the end of this first volume.
