at the beginning, i didnt like this book because i thought it was too slow, but it grew on me. the plot was compelling, but reading it wasn’t exactly fun, if that makes sense. my other main criticism is that agnes was not nearly grateful enough for everything august did for her. however, if the premise of this book sounds appealing to you, i would recommend it. i wouldn’t recommend it to everyone because i dont think it would be everyones cup of tea.
