Antigoddess by Kendare Blake
4.0

After reading through the first 10 Percy Jackson books earlier this year, I was worried about jumping in to another Greek mythology set in modern day type series. I'm glad I did, because the gods and goddesses are so much different and darker. The ailments that are killing them are disturbing and gruesome, and Blake knows how to write in detail that will make you cringe while reading as you sit there reading and imagining it happen.

I love that this book immediately kicks off with a dark mood, and not the typical false pretense of happiness that is shattered. I really enjoyed seeing the gods and key players in history in a different light. Blake also isn't afraid to kill off characters, no matter how small or large they are. I look forward to jumping right in to Mortal gods. I give Antigodess a 4.25/5.
