3.0

I kept debating if I should give this a 3 or 4. It's like right inbetween so I settled for a 3.5. Don't be confused by the rating, this is a comic worth reading, I just didn't "LOVE" it. Okay let's get on to it.

What I liked: The characters. Each issue basically plays out that you get the background of the main characters + current things happening. It's pretty cool to see how they link and why they act the way they do. I also liked how the story gives this sense of mystery and creepiness without going overboard. Also the art is unique and don't think anything really looks like it. Like Retro meets modern.

What I didn't like: The faces sometimes look a bit odd. Also the stories aren't all as good as the others. With a big cast you'll link to some characters while others come off meh. I was let down by some even because their current self is much more interesting. Also the family dynamic feels a bit iffy at times, too TV.

Overall I did enjoy reading this. The first arc ends on "Whoa" and really leaves it up in the air for the future of this series. I'm hoping Jeff Lamire dives even deeper into this world.
