how can detectives be SO DUMB!!!!!!! i imagine it's hard to write mysteries but, man, sometimes the characters take ages to figure stuff out and do the dumbest things, lmao, i know that red herrings are a reader's advantage, but they could be slightly less easy to spot idk if that's an unfair ask lol
