False Witness
by Karin Slaughter
This was my first book by this author. Her writing is awesome! She keeps you in their lives and emotional ‘feels’ of these characters. I was impressed with how she kept the sisters intertwined and yet apart. There were a few things I felt was flat but the important characters have their ends tied together.
I knew early in the book, that Callie was going to die for Leigh somehow. And I figured the mom, Linda, knew one or both sisters killed Buddy.
The twist of Maddy being Callie was great. Caught be off guard.
This abuse was difficult for me to get through. I don’t root for murder but I applaud Karin for how they took out Buddy. Being an older sister myself, I could sympathize with Leigh completely. I know others have mentioned they couldn’t read those parts and would skip it but I wanted to get the full effect of their story.
I felt a lot of emotions with this book. She did a great job! The main reason I did not give a 5 star, was due to the fact that some things I felt ran flat. Then the fact I guess things earlier on. I made a point to not know too much going into this book so to guess certain parts and this being my first time with Karin… is a bummer.
