I think the second read was even better than the first. I loved this book the first time around—lots of action, charismatic characters, a thieving crew with fun banter, the twist at the end—it was a really fun book that did some unexpected things. But going back to the beginning after reading all 6 currently-available Mistborn books brings its own delights. I can see the groundwork that Sanderson was laying back in this first book, the clever way he worked in bits of information that seem innocuous upon first read and then have a huge payoff later. I love when an author leaves the reader little breadcrumbs. This is by no means a perfect book, but it's pretty fantastic and I love it.
