I enjoyed the first one (4 stars) and was looking forward to the rest of the series, but this book fell flat compared to the first book. While the plot line was pretty standard, but there was nothing new added to the story. Which is okay, sometimes I want just a decent historical romance.

I like the characters, but this book in the series spent a lot of time with other characters than with the main ones who made the story lag even more.

Compared to an excellent first in the series to the second, I am not sure if I want to continue. I think I am more disappointed with how different this book is to the first.
