I didn't expect to like this.
I had started to read it awhile back at the end of my 8th grade year, and I thought is was really stupid and gross.
Now, well, it's still stupid, but can we all agree that the things we type to one another in chat for often are? These kids acted like real teenagers. One of the main differences is that they didn't curse as much as, at least I would say, kids really do. I have not read the first in the series, but I didn't really have to to understand what was going on. It was clear that I understood some of the things they mentioned, but other events from the previous book I was still pretty sketchy on.
It's obvious why this book has been challenged and banned enough to make it on the top 100 in the 2000's (year) list. It's ok in my opinion, and maybe it is more a guilty pleasure than it should be.
Two and 1 half of a star.
