Overview

How often do you give books as gifts? If you haven't already read them, how often do you read them first? That's what this challenge is about - reading a book that you plan to give as a gift in its entirety before gifting it. There are no other restrictions such as fiction/nonfiction, genre, format, etc., only that it is a book you're intending to give as a gift that you haven't read before.

I was inspired to make this challenge when I realized that I enjoy reading books I want to give to others as gifts. This can help us read different types of books than we usually do, but it can also help us get to know those we are getting gifts for better. Doing this also let's you share in the excitement your friend will have as they go through their new book. If it's a book someone specifically requested, this could also be a great way to get to know them a bit more.

The requirement for this challenge is only set to five, but feel free to set your personal goal higher or lower than that.
